Frequently asked questions

What are Hyperliquid perpetuals?

Perpetual futures are leveraged, funded contracts with no expiry that track an underlying oracle price. Hyperliquid runs them fully on-chain on an order book — native markets listed by Hyperliquid plus HIP-3 markets deployed by independent builders, all on the same matching engine.

What's the difference between native and HIP-3 perps?

Native perps are listed by Hyperliquid on the main perp dex with cross or isolated margin. HIP-3 perps are deployed by independent builders on their own perp dex — they settle against that dex's own margin account but run on the same matching engine, so this board shows both side by side.

How is funding shown?

Funding is the hourly rate paid between longs and shorts. A positive rate means longs pay shorts. The detail page also shows the annualized equivalent and the next funding time, all streamed live from the on-chain API.

Can I trade these from the command line?

Yes — the openbroker CLI exposes every perp as a first-class command with leverage, cross/isolated margin, reduce-only and dry-run previews, including HIP-3 markets. The same calls are available to autonomous agents through the OpenClaw plugin.
